And now here I am with another adventure with me and my friends.
SPARTAN, an adjective defined as indifference to comfort or luxury, it is usually related to ancient Sparta. From the name itself, it would look like it that we are on for another adventure this week.
The route would look like its simple since it would start at the back of Convergys Banawa. It would look like as a simple and cute dayhike and it seemed that it was in the first few minutes but as the sun showed its mighty light to the ground, the terrain started to become more steep. After around 15 minutes of uphill walking, we found ourselves at the back of Good Shepherd continuing the route to a much more steep climb with lesser houses as we went along the trail.
And a much nicer view of the city.
And off we went to a much more steep uphill route.
The first higher will was very steep that we had to make a few stops before reaching the top. We made a full stop under this mango tree before we dive into the deep jungle.
The next trails was more on downward slopes and what you need to worry is not slipping since it was a bit slippery for it rained the previous night. As we went down deep into the forest, you will see trees for as high as 50 feet and you would even wonder if this is just a dream since geographically, we are still in Cebu City.
We never expected to see such beauty and masterpiece.
After almost an hour of walking in the jungle, we had to make a stop in the river and have lunch of course pictorials.
We walk for about 45 minutes to reach perfect spot to take lunch. Made a few stops along the way.
Our view during lunch.
Time was not on our side for it was only a day hike so after a 15 minute lunch, we took off and found ourselves for another pictorial in one of the water falls around the area. Our guide said that there were actually 3 waterfalls but since we are on a day hike, we will just settle for this one.
The road was slippery going up the side of the waterfalls but if you wanna shake some adrenaline rush, our guide said that you can have a free hand wall climb up the waterfalls itself.
And more steep climb as we ascended.
This is the first part ascend to the final ascend. It was a very steep terrain that we made many stops.
We were so tird that there was a point that we did this for us to remove pain from our backs.
Our guide told us that it will take one more hour, all ascend and we will be at the final spot for the day hike, thats gonna be at barangay Pamutan. We tried to condition our minds and gathered enough stregth to the final blow but as we started with the finale, rain started pouring in hard, like really hard with all the fogs and strong chilly winds that in a matter of of 5 minutes, the road turned muddy and slippery thay it became hard for us to walk uphill. There was even a part that we need to pass a cliff with a slippery 1 meter opening with a big dead tree sitting vertically making it impossible for us to do the turn but luckily, we made it. There was too much rain and danger that we were not able to took pictures during this final stage.
At last we made it beside the main road.
And so we sat and took this picture feeling motivated on taking another hike the next week.
Thanks for reading.
